Hello! I'd love to use the 5 inch display as a receiver for a keyboard - in other words have a ble keyboard connect to an elecrow and type on it. Would that as a procedure be having the 5 inch display behave as a server, then figure out the rest of it?

With an ssd, bigger battery, and better build quality it would be an instant get

there is a problem with the latest version of the turotial. Out.funtions crash the compiler. commented them out everything works.

Can you confirm that the current code on GitHub will work (now) with the 7" version and whether it has to be a V3 device? I read comments about you updating GitHub so interested to know if this has been done yet. I have a 5" version which works perfectly with ESPhome and LVGL and have just ordered a 7" version which I am very much hoping works the same.

I have been through many pages and sources of info, and the info do not match. it is very confusing. for example: on the elecrow official store on aliexpress the touch panel is capacitive while in your website it is resistive. second example: on your website and the lcd datasheet the color depth is 24-bit offering 16M colors but here on the video you say it is 16-bit. these are 2 examples there are alot of others.

This is an excellent intro. Thank you for this detailed video. I bought 3 of your 5" displays and would love to be able to display pages of my devices depending on the room it is in that also change based on time of the day and other factors. The method in this video I think will have its limits. I don't think it's possible to 'cast' a home assistant dashboard to the display and I've heard LVGL is the way forward but I know nothing of it, especially if it's free or not and easy to work with. Ideally it would be possible to generate the widgets and page structures (tabs, etc) based on various entities then it generates the yaml code and we just paste it in the device yaml but not sure if that is how it should work. Eager to use this

I've recently had a problem. It used to work. The code uploads normally, but then my display is mirrored by 180 degrees. I've tried everything possible, but I can't get it to work anymore. Maybe you have a tip for me? Thanks!

Hi i bought a 7 inc board from amazon but on the box there are some confusing information: resolution 1024x768! It should be a 800x600. Using your code nothing appear on the display. The board have a black acrylic enclosure so i can't rea if it is a v2 or v3. On the box there is this code X001YT5YZF Elecrow esp32 mit displ. Please help me

One large issue is that the 5 and 7 in boards need to run with the LovyanGFX and LGFX object. The code is written to tft object and the tft constants such as TFT_BLACK, TFT_BLUE. etc. In regard to the PCA9557 issue, that file is found in the File directory in the tutorial and needs to be placed in the arduino library directory for it to be found.

I have a few boards of that type. but the battery connector is useless. these boards are taking way to much current, so a 10 000 mAh battery is empty in 2 days....

Thats very close to something I would be interested in but I would like to see some variations - black, potentially metal version, larger screen, larger battery (I get it powers the screen for 2 hours? We are in age where there are laptops with 14h battery with similar form factor - 2h is nothing). I was thinking I would build something like that for my steamdeck but I was thinking about potentially making it thicker and inserting the steamdeck inside - I think like you have daughter boards for different devices if you had modular bottom panel with cases for different devices it would be great - having raspi and so on the side directly connected to ports is too much risk of breaking it off something accidentally anways. I know Steamdeck is kinda different beast but with some venting channels and sacrificing some mobility it should be possible to design too. I was also thinking about making it 2v1 convertable (touchscreen with ability to flip it and use as tablet) which would work nicely for raspi and phones but that steamdeck version would be problematic because thickness. Also somebody was showing pocket for drive in video which was unused - ability to insert drives (nvme, sata to usb, usb, whatever ...) would be great too (another posibility for some modular setup).

Thankyou for making this, it was always been an "itch" to have this kind of product in the market. I love this Not as a developer or an engineer, but as a low budget customer in a developing country. This could give customer like me many choices. Budget, performance, specific workload, upgradability, and even a second laptop without a second laptop😂 just get another board. I wish for this product would take off and reach indonesia with adjustable spec too so i can get even more flexibility

Hello, I have a 4.3" esp-32 8048s043c display, the capacitive touch does not work. I pasted it from macsbug.wordpress.com/2022/11/29/esp32-8048s043/ manufacturer's data (I changed the content of gfx_conf.h) and it doesn't work either. I2C communication. Touch works on the TAMC_GT911 library, but when connected to your code it doesn't work well. It keeps showing that the screen is touched and the x and y values ​​are over 3000.. do you know what could be the reason?

What if I want to display a video? Is it powerful enough to support 30 fps videos? Also, do I need to resize pictures/videos to 800x480 before displaying them?

I have an esp32-8048s070 board , and having a hard time trying to make it work, it displays completely blank

I tried it with arduino gia r1 +display shield. Worst program ever! There are so much bug, nothing work like it should, you have to read millions of forum to solve the smallest problem. I do not recommend it to anyone.
